First Aid Course

The course will be held on Monday 29th February at the Europa Hotel in Nicosia and will take place in the morning, lasting for approx 4 hours.  The cost to individuals will be 4 euro per head for a  mid morning coffee/snack.
As the title indicates, this is very much an introduction to First Aid, aimed at helping people to recognize and take appropriate action for the most common types of medical emergencies.
Subjects included are as follows :
1.      Understanding the role of the first aider, first aid equipment, including personal protection barriers
2.      When to call emergency services
3.      CPR: cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – basic knowledge
4.      Choking – adults, children & infants
5.      Recovery position
6.      Ongoing assessment and care
7.      Heart Attack
8.      Unconscious victims
9.      Epileptic seizures
10.   Stroke
11.   Diabetic Emergency
12.   Heat Stroke
13.   Bleeding Management
14.   Small cuts and wounds
15.   Nose Bleeding
16.   Injury to the eye
17.   Other types of injuries
18.   Burns
